Review: Film review – A bridge too far (1977) – Theres nothing bad to say about this movie really, you could say that its too long but you’d be wrong. There is an epic story to tell here and the movie can only just get the job done in the three hours.

Look out for the parachute scenes as these are truely spectacular considering the lack of CGI at the time. All done with 11 Dakotas and 1,000 men!

My personal favourite moments are; Gene Hackmans terrible attempt at a Polish accent, James Caan’s salute when asked if he would really kill a US surgeon and the British officer telling a German soldier he doesn’t have the facilities to accept his surrender when the German is offering to accept the British surrender.
