Review: Film review – Pretty Woman (1990) – Probably one of the most watched movies of all time this is a classic but not your usual classic. It is by no means a masterpiece, nothing like a work of art or anything produced by genius. This is a classic because it is fairy tale brought to life by Hollywood. A sort of adult Disney film that ignores all the issues surrounding its subject matter (prostitution) and instead tells the story the same way it would be told if it was Cinderella.

I’m a fan of both Julia Roberts and Richard Gere and so for me the film is easy to watch, I imagine if either irritate then the film would to. Julia Roberts stunning beauty and extraordinary smile (very large) which she so brilliantly controls and can switch on and off like a light makes this film so much easier to watch. Richard Gere plays an understated role largely acting as the straight guy to “Julia Roberts”.

This is a film where its important to suspend any intellect you have and allow yourself to be transported into the fairy tale. Get your popcorn ready and preferably a partner to laugh at some of the more ridiculous parts.

Great fun.
