Review: Film review – Prime (2005) – This Manhattan based romantic comedy stars Uma Thurman, Bryan Greenberg and Meryl Streep. Thurman plays Rafi a recently divorced 37-year-old, Greenberg plays David a 23-year-old painter and Streep plays Lisa a therapist. Rafi and David meet by chance and start a relationship, Rafi is nervous because of the age difference and so tells her therapist all about the relationship unaware that her therapist Lisa is Davids mother! Lisa finds herself in a difficult spot when she works out that her son is sleeping with a 37-year-old divorcee who is also her patient. To make matters worse Lisa and David are Jewish and Rafi isn’t.

Lots of fun ensues as the plot thickens and slowly unwinds to the finish. Some nice funny moments, in particular the moment when Rafi describes Davids penis to his mother! An above average romantic comedy, worth a watch.
