Review: Film review – Windtalkers (2002) – This war film is set during the Second World War, Sergeant Joe Enders (played by Nicolas Cage) is assigned to protect Navajo code talker Ben Yahzee (Played by Adam Beach). However he also has a second more important mission which is to make sure he doesn’t fall into enemy hands because the Japanese would interrogate him and learn the code he uses to communicate orders to and from the battle field. The film follows them and their company as they fight their way across Saipan.

There are two parts to the film, one is the relationship that develops between Cage and Beach, Cage initially trying not to establish one since he might have to kill Beach. The other aspect of the film is the fighting itself. This is very much an action film with plenty of death and glory.

Some good action scenes and even a little originality are mixed with some pretty cliche’d cinema. It just made 7/10, only just though.
